This is the second year the nationwide Direct Cash Aid distribution with Villages Funds transferred from the National Budget to the poor villagers amid COVID-19 outbreak.
The so-called BLT in Indonesian language as abbreviation of Bantuan Langsung Tunai (Direct Cash Aid) are distributed to the villagers poor post Villages Special Session on BLT in every villages around the Nation.
"This aid is a social safety net during the global pandemic and aimed to help the rural poor due to the lack of their income," said Abdul Wahab Dai, a local facilatator in Keera Subdistrict, Wajo Regency, South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
Every selected poor family get 300.000 rupiahs for twelve month till the end of 2021.
BLT is one of the priority of 2021 Villages Funds based on a Minister of Villages, Underdeveloped and Transmigration Zone Development's Regulation.
Meanwhile, eight percent of Village Fund in every villages allocated to handle COVID-19 outbreak. "The villages could provide masks, handsanitizers, isolation room, checque-post and also another allocation to stop the widespread of the pandemic," Wahab told reporters.
This country also campaigns not-to-gohometown during the fasting month of Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
